Monkey Tennis 2.0
With our recent acceptance onto the BBC's approved suppliers list, and applying for the Innovation Labs, we've been thinking about the king of pitching to the BBC, Alan Partridge. But what if he had to go beyond TV ideas, and provide a “360” Web 2.0 concepts for some of his programme ideas...
Around The World With Alan Partridge In A Bullnose On The Left
Alan circumnavigates the globe, only driving through countries where they drive on the left in a lovely old Bullnose Morris.
- Microsoft™ Live Map showing Alan's progress
- Photos posted to Flickr from Alan's Iphone, geotagged and mashed onto Microsoft™ Live Map
- Facebook "Bullnose Lefties" group established to allow the people of the left-handed countries of the world to contribute their advice, reviews and comments about Alan's journey, and make friends with other fans.
Ladyshapes with Alan Partridge
Look at the changing shape of ladies through the ages, from fat, chubby ladies of the Renaissance, to hard-faced Cromwellian sourpusses, right up to twentieth-century well-toned women like Sharon Davies and Jet from Gladiators.- Great opportunity for "User Generated Content" - lady viewers send in photos and videos taken on cameraphones of their own shapes.
- Viewers can tag their uploads, remix and vote on their favourite ladyshape, and download the images as postcards or wallpaper.
Monkey Tennis
- Create your own "mini-monkey tennis player" in Second Life. Construct your character by choosing fur colour, sweatband colour, bottom size/redness, etc. and take part in an interactive multiplayer game of tennis.
- Catch the bananas thrown by the crowd for powerups. Possible voiceover by Sue Barker?
- Video highlights of matches to be available to watch on YouTube, for embedding on MySpace pages - let's go viral!
- You'll also be able to download your cartoon monkey character onto your mobile phone, where he will live (as long as you text him enough virtual bananas) and use his "forehand grunt/screech" as your ringtone. You'll be able to play "virtual" tennis matches against other nearby Monkey Tennis players via bluetooth.
- API so developers can integrate their monkeys into their own website
- Opportunity for a "flash-mob", with lots of young trendies gathering at Wimbledon in monkey outfits?
