I've previously questioned what effect the recession would have on Rckt. I have a feeling that the question I asked myself was off the mark. It should have been "how will the change ofgovernment affect Rckt?".
There'sa danger here of sounding quite apocalyptic., but according to government and Mr Cameron: the end is nigh.
PersonallyI choose to be agnostic in the face of such pessimism. The facts aren't clear enough to commit to either argument, boom or bust.
Onething is clear: Rckt have one major governmental department on thebooks and without doubt they will be affected in some way. There's cause for some positivity in this particular case however. We provide websites and online solutions for this client and these are withoutdoubt the most effective and efficient way for them to communicate the legislation that they are tasked with. My fingers are firmlycrossed for both them and us.
So, back to my question, how will this affect Rckt?
At present client acquisition continues to grow steadily, new work is still coming through the door and the team and its recent additions have raised our game to collectively be one of the foremost agencies in our region, in my opinion at least!
We will undoubtedly face some tough times ahead, but the business has been positioned with longevity at its core which means we are well placed to ride out the storm should it come. We are small enough to remain agile, able to adapt to change in less than ideal circumstances and strong enough as a team to win new business. We are as well placed as we could be.
So, whilst I can't predict exactly what will happen to Rckt, I can remain optimistic, I can and will remain my usual positive self...
Over the coming months I'll be regularly (read randomly) posting about the experiences of owning and running a digital agency, from writing uncomfortably large cheques to the tax man to... well, to whatever happens in the near future. Until next time, AB.
