Rocket launches a mash-up website for York
Rocket has gone all web 2.0 with the design of a mash-up website for York and Selby. That all sounds very exciting doesn't it, even makes Rocket sound like a trendy website design agency, where all our designers wear black and speak in jargon. Well no need to worry, our website design team are not in black and we have'nt ditched our promise never to talk rubbish.
So what does a web 2.0 mash-up website mean? Well Rocket has been working with York and Selby Best Bar None scheme to design a website that lets visitors navigate around an interactive map of York and Selby to find pubs, clubs and bars that have signed up to the Best Bar None quality scheme.
The Rocket website development team have cleverly incorporated a snazzy Google map with interactive details about the various venues across York and Selby. This mixing of lots of different technologies on a website is what those website designers that talk jargon all the time call a mash-up. We at Rocket here in Sheffield simply call it a really useful website.
What's more, the list of bars is available as an RSS feed, so other websites can create their own mash-ups based on the Best Bar None data.
If you fancy a great night out in York or Selby then why not check out the bars on the new website. Have a look at the best bar none website by clicking here.
