Rocket launches website for Sheffield's most prestigious company

This week is a proud milestone here at Rocket. We have launched the new Sheffield Forgemasters International website. Sheffield Forgemasters is the successor to such famous Sheffield names such as Vickers, English Steel, Firth Brown and British Steel and is a real symbol of renewed pride in Sheffield industry.

The company, now in its third century and probably the oldest steel business in the world, having started way back in the 1750s. The guys down at Forgemasters have been involved in almost every technological leap forward that the steel industry has every seen. These are just some of their highlights, which read like a history of Britain:

Exhibitior at the Great Exhibition of 1851
Dreadnought battleships
The world's first submarine
Stainless steel cutlery blades
Crankshafts for the Merlin engine , powering the Spitfire and Lancaster aircraft
Components for the world's first nuclear power station at Calder Hall .

Today they remain at the forefront of technology for castings and forgings for heavy engineering customers all over the world. Apologies for this all sounding like a potted history of industrial Britain, but as a little Sheffield business, we are just really pleased to be involved in the future of such a prestigious Sheffield company.

We have been working with Forgemasters over the past couple of months, along with their PR company (HR Media) who expertly provided content, to design and build a whole new website and we are really pleased with the results. Their website now promotes the prestige of the business to a global audience and acts as a superb platform for them to communicate to the world.

The website highlights the range of specialist services that Forgemasters offers and uses our spiffing Rocket Content Management System to keep everything fresh and up to date.
