Historic entertainment venue gets modern website overhaul

Just because Cox's Yard is nestled in historic Stratford-Upon-Avon doesn't mean its website has to be historic as well. As the premier local entertainment venue for both evening and daytime activities, Cox's Yard were keen for their website to reflect this as well as the exciting plans they have for the future.

Building on the functionality of the original site – itself designed and built by Rckt in 2005 – the new site sports a brand new visual motif echoing the venue's 160 years of operation, first as a timber merchant then as an entertainment hub. The visuals are made possible using cutting edge markup and styling techniques ensuring the rich typography is available to as wide an audience as possible. Behind this is the robust and fully featured content management system that has powered many of Rckt's most popular sites with the added functionality of a rich events manager.

Alongside the existing site features is a new focus on social networking to ensure the site and its content can fit into the busy lives of its visitors. Combine this with best-in-class improvements to areas such as mailing list management and contact options and the result is a stunning looking site with all the tools in place to help Cox's Yard advertise everything their venue has to offer.

This isn't the end of the project though: with numerous exciting opportunities brewing, the site is now positioned to play a key part in all upcoming Cox's Yard activities and phase two promises to allow the site to offer even more.

In the meantime, check out the site and see just what's going on:
