Design led by user need, and structure decided by user journeys

We have been working with Sheffield City Council for almost two years, during this successful relationship a number of specific projects have been delivered by rckt. Ongoing consultancy has also been delivered improving the council’s overall web offer. This has led to the council been recently awarded ‘transactional’ status by the SOCITM Better Connected report.

In 2009 Rckt delivered a new design approach for the whole of the Council website, this fresh creative design was born out of an extensive process of user testing, audience needs analysis and engagement with all types of stakeholders. We ran information architecture workshops, conducted user testing and developed a set of personas to assist in the development and testing of the design and structure of the Council website.

This work informed not only the look and feel created by Rckt, but also the new structure of the whole website.
