Sheffield Forgemasters holds a special place in the hearts of the regional community. From the ashes of Sheffield's historic past in steel making, they have developed into a company that truly excels in a global market, leading the world in precision engineering of steel. They are a true success story nationally and internationally, and something that the people of Sheffield are rightly proud of.
Through a competitive pitch process Rckt were awarded the project to redesign and build their website.
Sheffield Forgemasters' brief was to produce a website that positions the company globally to customers and investors, placing emphasis on their products and services and the sectors they operate in.
We started from the ground up; site-mapping (including early site grouping concepts to communicate their corporate and product structure), wireframing, design concepts and of course build. In fact the only aspect we didn't handle was the copy writing, which was done by their incumbent PR agency, HR Media. The site makes use of stunning industrial photography, and has a comprehensive content management system allowing the photos and text to be updated quickly and easily. Particular care went into reflecting the structure of the firm, and enabling future capacity for expansion.
